Faith, Hope, Love

With numerous natural disasters, economic recessions, regional political unrest, and ongoing terrorist threats, the world appears to be an uncertain place. It leaves us to wonder what's in store for our next generation, and the generations to come.

How people deal with these unstable situations varies. While some people surrender to fate, some would rely on superstition, some would seek comfort in religion, and there are those who believe that the future is entirely up to us, that we hold the power to change our destinies.

As part of my 'word search' print series, I juxtaposed words that exemplify a future that may be dark and gloomy. But if you look closely, you will find these three words - ‘Faith’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Love’- amongst the display of words.

These three words from the Bible deliver a positive and hopeful message for the future, words we can take comfort in whenever we are confronted by life's challenges. I hope this artwork would help us press on towards our future, even if it does not seem very promising at this juncture, because I believe that each and every one of us has the power to shape the times to come.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
